Strength 1:00:00 [2]

More rehab, lots of dumbell work and back to the Lumberjack business.

Cycling 40:00 [2]

Scoot around the 'hood with AD to check out the newly bulldozed trail.
Slow going on soft sand until it settles. They also plowed right through the poison ivy, so we had to bushwhack around that section.

I used the older aluminum 'bent as the carbon one is getting an upgraded pivot from the local mechanical genius. Shifting was a bit wonky until I tore the derailleur right off- turns out the idler had siezed since I last rode it at Storm the Trent. Luckily, I had a spare in stock, and have a hanger aligner tool too, so back in business.

Strength 30:00 [2]

Brought BZ around outside to the adventurebasement, and settled him in our spare crate while I did some rehab and part of workout 1.

Saw Thumbs-of-death for my back and hamstring.

New human-powered speed record- dead calm, dead flat, 142kph by Canadian Todd Reichart in Aerovelo- a windowless bullet.

Here's what it looks and sounds like going by!

Fast enough to engage the Flux Capacitor.

Night Lightning GoPro adapter for anyonwe with the original Squirrel Scorchers from years back:

http://www.shapeways.com/product/EZKC8YKN3/nightli...

This will let you use standard Gopro helmet mounts, headbands and bar attachments.

Also, Night Lightning can upgrade the LEDs now to triple the power if you really want to roast rabbits from a distance.

Running 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: New Balance 1210v2

Easy jog to work and night jog back. Walked the hills as I'm down a pint.
AD seems nervous running on leash at night.

Cycling 50:00 [2]

Another nice commute with Adventuredog.

Took the shortest route home as I'm off to donate blood after- finally can as I'm not racing for a while.

Furry Friends 5k
Logan the Adventuredog's first race. He raised nearly $700 for shelter and animal rescue, which is appropriate for a rescue dog.
AD doesn't normally run on Brody's waist belt, and has never run in a crowd of strangers and their dogs. He was a trooper though, setting a solid pace out the gate. It's an out-and-back, so we hit outgoing traffic and distractions on the return. We were 3rd overall until the 3k hydration stop where I wanted to see if he needed water, but he only got tangled with an outgoing dog, and we had to make up some time. We nearly reeled in 2nd place but his female husky chicked Logan by a whisker. First place was an elite traithlete with an 8 month old Vizsla, who set a world record of 16 min and change.

Logan was 3rd dog overall, and won a 3 month supply of dog food.

He also won a huge basket for his incredible donatons. Big thanks to all who donated.

He decided to donate the dog food to the rescue association, and selected a squeaky toy in exchange.

Bash was third dogless female.

Andrea and Maui were 3rd female runner with dog.

Fun and well-run event, great prizing and for a good cause on a sparkling cool day- what more could you ask for.
