It wasn't too hot but very humid so we took lots of dog-soaking breaks.

Incredibly lush out.

Running 53:00 [3]
shoes: New Balance Leadville 3

Run in with Bazingadog and back with AD.
I rushed to make sure I was early for my blood donor clinic appt, and I was- a week early.
Guess I can train harder this week after all.

Running 28:00 [2]
shoes: Altra Lone Peak 2.5

Run in with AD. Legs felt good. Got a ride home with thunder booming- getting caught in a storm once is enough for this week.

Cycling race 1:09:59 [4] 15.69 km (13.5 kph) +244m

Night lap. Foggy with 100% humidity, and the trails were slick, with muddy sections. I took the rooty turns carefully, and enjoyed this lap a lot more.
Lost a little time when my chip card fell out of my pocket and I had to run back to get it.
11 AM

Cycling 1:06:06 intensity: (10 @1) + (3:43 @2) + (36:34 @3) + (25:39 @4) 15.62 km (14.2 kph) +250m
ahr:162 max:177

Final lap. I suggested we change up the sequence and move our 2 fast guys up ahead of me to let us get in an extra, so all who wanted would have 3 laps. Brilliant strategy- I gave up a slot with nice weather for one that started just after a downpour to freshen up the mud and slick the roots, and then ended up in a thunderstorm and pounding rain. At one point I even got off the bike to seek shelter, but realized it was pointless and headed for home. Slick and sloppy, but my legs felt good and my HR was fine even though it wasn't very different from the first anerobic lap.
