Training Log Archive: 'Bent

Slow going in soft snow. A bit of freezing rain and +2 on the night run home.
Shoes were great- just lace up and go, and socks bone dry when I arrived.

Legs a bit tired from yesterday's first track-set ski.

First time up at Highlands this year. Nice fast tracks, except for the back red which was ungroomed but had some tracks, and was really nice despite some damp patches.
Going to feel it tomorrow!

Quick skate jaunt, but heavy traffic with school groups cut it short.

Final load of firewood gratefully put away. The van was loaded to the gunwhales, and this time I had to haul the wood via 6x 200kg tobbogan loads around to the shed.

Wonderful ski out the back door with Bash and both beasts. Conditions have improved beyond borderline with a couple cm more snow.

Rehab and workout 2.

Easy tour of Palgrave East and West with Brody the Bazingadog. Big guy was nuts at first but laid back for the rest.

Just a short walk with the dogs due to appts. There’s nothing better than crisp squeaky snow, blue skies and no wind at -15.

Bah, cold #2, so rehab and some easy strength.

Easy 2-dog ski to work on a brilliant day. Wish I felt up to a longer ski.
Things got interesting when we saw a husky cross running on the trails as we crossed the road, with both dogs tied to me. All good, found owner and dogs got along fine.

Woo hoo, first ski to work!
Fluffy snow with no base so not ideal but I'll take it,with a few new scratches on my commuter beater skis.

Unfortunately I seem to have cold #2 just as the snow arrived. :(

I could have used some help, but the big guy wasn't in a mood to haul today.

Took it easy on the return too as I wasn’t feeling great.
