Hiking 50:24 [3] 3.87 km (13:01 / km) +78m 11:49 / km

Into Town Forest. The parking lot is still under re-construction but I picked my way across the trail bridge which is torn apart with new high-rise concrete footings set, dam still in place. Hope it will not be a new bridge intended for vehicles.

Hurt pretty much the entire hike: right lower back, down outside the right hipbone, and the right quad ... the ITB. That's been bothering me since last week's ordeal at Baldwin Hill where I fell six times. Top of the right foot stilll hurting, too. Need to work on all that if I'm going to feel up to Danbury next week.

Pace not too bad, considering. Lovely weather with temp in the mid- high- thirties. Lots of trees newly felled in past week's windstorms. Trails covered with pine cones as well as leaves, ground frozen.

Note

Just came back from Simsbury and a mangy coyote (really looked sick but was trotting along briskly) crossed the highway in front of me at the Ethel Walker's School field that borders the WCOC's Town Forest venue on the east side. I had three mangy coyotes in my yard a few years ago, one crawled into my garage and died, and I called DEEP to remove it.
