Note

It's the season when I question why I ever put gutters on the house. Fortunately, not many leaves this year. Hassling the ladders went OK but I am ignoring the too high SE side. Raking, blowing and shoveling the leaves accumulated around the foundation was aided greatly by gusts of strong winds out of the NW. That should do it for this year.

Hiking 50:24 [3] 3.87 km (13:01 / km) +78m 11:49 / km

Into Town Forest. The parking lot is still under re-construction but I picked my way across the trail bridge which is torn apart with new high-rise concrete footings set, dam still in place. Hope it will not be a new bridge intended for vehicles.

Hurt pretty much the entire hike: right lower back, down outside the right hipbone, and the right quad ... the ITB. That's been bothering me since last week's ordeal at Baldwin Hill where I fell six times. Top of the right foot stilll hurting, too. Need to work on all that if I'm going to feel up to Danbury next week.

Pace not too bad, considering. Lovely weather with temp in the mid- high- thirties. Lots of trees newly felled in past week's windstorms. Trails covered with pine cones as well as leaves, ground frozen.
