Note

Those who know me should laugh: I bought two pairs of running shoes today. (I'm not a runner.)

But a lap of jogging after my morning walking lap (ca. 0.8km/lap) around the Kohl's car park this morning went well (temp wonderfully befow 65F!). I think the jogging accounts for my groin and hip feeling much better today.

Actually, one pair ( Nike road runners) is for walking around during upcoming trip to Romania, although I might try some more jogging on pavement. The other (Socony trail runners) with arch helpers will be an alternative to my Ice Bugs when I don't need the spikes. Oh, so comfy in the store. And light. Makes me impatient to get back into the woods -- as soon as the heat wave expires.

A bonus for going to a runner's shoe store: I learned how to tie the Marathon Knot (aka using the runner's loop). I never knew what those extra eyelets were for, and my misuse of them has given rise to annoyance. It also explains why shoe laces on sneakers I've bought in recent years seemed ridiculously long. Guess I did just fall off the turnip truck yesterday.
