Hiking 1:00:00 [3]

Marching back and forth over the small patch I call a lawn, wearing long-spiked garden sandals to aerate. Truthfully, much of the time was spent changing from sneakers into trail boots and struggling with the awful straps of the sandals. But the much needed job got done .

Unlogged : still attacking the 10cu. Yd. Pile of mulch and spreading it around. Much easier than in prior years now that I have an ingeniously designed garden cart suitable for use by old codgers.

Still need to be mindful of the left hip muscles but things are much better in the past couple of weeks.

Hiking 15:04 [3] 1.03 km (14:38 / km)

Stratton Brook SP. While S paraded around the upper parking lot, I ventured into the woodland trails to refresh my recollection of what it’s like to have pine needles, pine cones and tree roots under foot. A short circuit around the center part of the park provided moderate ups and downs, a change from the paved venues I have been visiting with S during the Pandemic. Refreshing. Not as agile as years past, but blessedly without the arthritic pain of last year.

Hiking 45:00 [3]

4 laps around the inside of Home Depot looking for stuff on my list and, usually, resisting interesting things I don’t need (yet).

2x 50lbs squats putting lime and soil bags on to the cart. Repeated later getting them into the car.
