Felt pretty good. Half running, half aquajogging. Around the start of the Parkrun there was huge knee deep puddles - very fun.

Foot felt ok today, the anti-inflams are making a difference.

A reflection on last nights session:

This is a session which 12 months ago I probably would of ran a little quicker than I did last night. However by this point last year I had a few more specific 800/1500 sessions in the bank.
I worked hard last night and don't think I could of dug much deeper.

However one thing I am noticing this year is that I am recovering from these sessions much quicker and after one hard session like yesterday I am sooner able to run hard again compared to last year.

I plan to race hard on Saturday, session again next tuesday & thursday hard before racing for the first time next sunday at the festival of Athletics 1500m. Considering last year I ran 4.08, if I improve on my PB before the end of May (which is a big ask) I will be over the moon. With the 800m to break 2 minutes would be a big thing for me.

On the parkrun loop in Endcliffe park. A terrible place to do a session on a saturday afternoon, the park was ridiculously busy and found myself weaving inbetween people the whole time and never really got into any rhythm. regardless of the times I worked very hard which is what matters. Net uphill also.

Run along fulwood road and then 1 mile @ 5.30 through the parks to test foot and make sure it was feeling ok, which it was. Joined up with Tom Bains and ran back with him for a bit - he was running bloody fast for a warm down.

I was really looking forward to doing this session and was happy Armaud was there to help me as I was rather scared of the prospect of being in the distant shadows of young Tom. Fortunatley he was doing 200m reps.

The plan was 3 x 500, 3x 400, 2 x 300, 2x200. Love the sound of this session.

After 3 x 400 and 1 400m rep I get a pretty bad cramp in my plantar fascia and called it a day. Maybe I was a little over-cautious but I did not want to take any chances - feel better today.

I was feeling good and relaxed for the reps I did:
