X-trainer 31:00 [3]

A long day at work today so had to fit in a lunchtime session.

4 x 5 min / 1 min
This is the first session I have done on the X-trainer since I started running again and it was weird. I was working really , really hard and my legs were hurting however no matter how hard I tried I could barely get my HR above 150. I think this is a good thing and is evidence of CV adaptations to the increased amount of aerobic work that I have been doing. Also what is interesting is that during my ibjured 8 weeks when I was doing a shit load of X training my resting HR was high 40s but now after a few weeks of running it is its normal high 30s.

Session 36:15 [3] 4.14 mi (8:45 / mi)

Some people like to run early. I like to run late.

I enjoyed this tonight and it was my first session on the hills. I have to say I am a little nervous about Parliment Hill.

I did a hill session of 10 hill efforts on Lawson Road (Broomhill) with jog back recovery and a short warm up and warm down. I didn't push too hard but felt like a solid session. My legs just haven't done this for so long so I think it will take a bit of getting used to. The track on tuesday is on and I am really looking forward to doing a session with the group.

Times for my record
( 69, 80, 81, 80, 81, 76, 80, 80, 80, 72 )

Note

The Saucony Kinvara is a great shoe. It bridges the gap nicely between the nothingness I was wearing and the big cushioned beasts. It has a fair bit of forefoot cushioning which is what I need and yet it feels fairly light and free on my feet. At 45 pound they were also a steal.

Moderate run 25:06 [3] 3.89 mi (6:27 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara

Treadmill run, felt comfortable today however I was really overheating in the gym and should not have worn a cotton T-shirt.

I think next week if the ice melts I will keep the milage the same and increase the proportion of road/grass running.

Session 16:00 [3] 2.99 mi (5:21 / mi)
shoes: Saucony progrid ride 2

Session on treadmill at S10 - the air con was down it was far too busy. They have oversubscribed you shouldn't have to wait for treadmill.

3 x 4 min @ 5.27/mile + 2 x 2 min @ 5.00/mile
rec 2 min for 4 min reps & 3 min for 2 min reps.

Was going to dp 4 x 4 min like last week @ 10k pb pace but split up last rep into 3k efforts.

Felt much better than last weeks session and was not too battrred afterwards. My HR for the reps was between 160- 164 which is a considerable drop from the same session last week.
