Sheffield Festival 1500m. Ran around 4.19 again, not had official results yet. Tom Bains and Conner pulled away with 800m to go and the rest of the pack were further behind. Finished up in 3rd, pleased given the 'partying' over the last few days

Running 45:01 [3] 4.44 mi (10:08 / mi)

All undergraduate exams are now done with, provided I have passed. This means I have time to do a few things, starting with showering, washing my hair and cooking a nutritious meal. It also means I can now give some more time to my training which means cycling and core, along with just a few extra miles.

I went to the track to do a session before getting boozed up. Wanted to do something sharp and not too demanding before Sunday.

3 x 300 + 3 x 200 (3min)

43,44,44,28,29,28

Felt OK, looking forward to racing Sunday. I hope to make some improvement on 4.19. If I can do that then that will be a step forward.

Session 1:11:33 [3] 7.67 mi (9:20 / mi)

A good day today, got offered a job in Rotherham starting in July, Trauma and Orthopaedics for the first rotation. This means that i'll be able to ride my bike to and from work and the track is half way between Rotherham and home, so that means additional 125km/week of cycling on top of the modest mileage I am doing at the moment which I think will be beneficial. The job has no nights or weekends which is good. Today was also my last clinical exam, which I was glad to get out of the way.

All of this left me feeling knackered but the sun was shining and I was looking forward to the track. The session tonight was:

4 x 600/200 (100jog/3mins) + 4 100m sprints (50 relaxed/50 fast)

1.42/34 2.16
1.38/34 2.12
1.38/32 2.10
1.41/28 2.09

Feeling good, and pleased with this.

Running 47:05 [3] 6.13 mi (7:41 / mi)

A wet and damp morning but nevertheless a pleasure to be outside. Ran with PaulT through the parks up to Forge Dam and back, stopping in Bingham Park for a few strides. Bumped into two athletes both returning from injury, 'TheLongRun' and Poppy.
