10 AM

Running 35:37 [3] 5.55 mi (6:25 / mi)

Session at the track with Dempsey who was doing something different at ridiculous speeds.

1mile, 1200, 800, 600,400 (2,4,5,6 min recoveries)

5.19,
3.56,
2.24,
1.44,
63

A really positive session. The aim being 10k pace for the mile, then 5km, 3km, 1500 and 800 pace respectively.

Things have settled down with my hip after a few days off and encoraging having Dempsey around as a source of inspiration. I felt comfortable and controlled on the mile , started working harder on the 1200 before things really started hurting on the 800.

Focused on maintaining form and not going to mad. Blew up after 200 on the last 400 and swam home.

7 PM

Running 42:12 [3] 5.0 mi (8:26 / mi)

Easy run with a few strides.

Note
(rest day)

Long shift. Feeling much better again today. Last of 3 rest days.

I'm not one for actually planning my sessions and following it, but I have a plan for the next few weeks up to and around the county champs - any feedback would be appreciated.
Finally worked out the Attackpoint picture thing.

Note
(rest day)

Up with likely food poisoning last night. Vomiting and cramping abdominal pains. Called in sick, feeling better now a bit. Two long days Tue+Wed. I think I will just rest and not run until Thursday.

Running 1:26:34 [3] 10.06 mi (8:36 / mi)

Long day trad climbing in Stanage. Long run home via Burbage and Fox House. Legs feeling really tired this evening after doing quite a bit of traversing. Picked it up through the parks again last mile or so.

Running 1:21:26 [3] 10.04 mi (8:07 / mi)

Long day out Trad Climbing at Stanage. Really enjoyable day, great conditions and a good laugh. Scary stuff though!

Felt really good and relaxed on the run this evening, took it easy and picked it up a bit for the last mile or so through the parks.

Running 30:00 [3] 4.39 mi (6:50 / mi)

Session

5 x 300 (3Min) + 4 × 150

1. 46.15
2. 45.84
3.46.84
4.46.85
5.47.24

Avg: 46.58

First real quick session of the season and first time in racing spikes so pleased to get it done. Legs not tired from running but feeling really tired from the last few days in Bradford.
Right hip is definitely affecting my speed - have an appointment to see Kim next week but in the meantime will just continue with the stretch and mobility stuff I've started doing recently.

In 2011 when I was running 2.00/4.08 I was averaging about 42-43 for these efforts so certainly within reach!
