Running 9:22 [3] 3.0 km (3:07 / km)

Trafford 3km - 9.22

I had no idea how things would go last night, after a run of long days in work with minimal running I had the goal of enjoying the race, working hard and being competitive with whoever I was racing.

I was in the second of three 3k's and had a good group to drag me round. I felt comfortable from the start with things staring to hurt with three laps to go. Split for the first km was 3.05, second km 3.07. At the bell in 8.01 I needed a sub 75 second last lap for a personal best. I couldn't believe it!

Picking it up slightly, form all over the place my right calf cramped hard and I really struggled to finish properly. I think I would have still been just outside a pb without this happening.

Calf today remains sore, but not swollen or bruised. I'm just about able to weight bear. I really hope that things resolve quickly as last night was a big confidence booster for me.
