Running 17:04 [3] 5.0 km (3:25 / km)

Doncaster Town Centre 5km - 17.04

I was feeling quite fresh and confident before the race. Looking at what I ran for 3000 I thought this would equate to something faster. This run, however, is more evidence that I need to work on my endurance to get quicker in all events.

I went off at a pace that felt comfortable, tucking in behind Stapelton. 3.17, 3.18 and 3.26 for first 3km. Things started getting really hard on the 4th km and I just couldn't maintain that pace so threw in a 3.42 before finishing with 3.23.

It's actually an official 5km Road PB and you should never be disappointed with a PB.

Going forward I need to continue training consistently focusing on getting my longer runs in and I think more threshold/ progression type runs.

Next race is Trafford 3km in under two weeks.

Running 16:34 [3] 3.46 km (4:47 / km)

Warm down with Ben.

Running 14:00 [3] 2.82 km (4:58 / km)
