South Yorkshire XC League - Penistone

First XC race of the season, feeling good to be racing again and a fun day out. Worked hard throughout the race and put in a good effort considering my current level of fitness. There are situations in the past when in such a race at mile 3-4 I would have completely shut down and given up but yesterday I stuck it out and if anything got stringer as the race went on. I think the climbing and S&C I've been doing has definitely helped my form.

I've managed to curb the drinking over the last month, the next challenge is refined sugar. I've got quite a few hours in work this week so I'll have an easy week before racing again on Saturday. Feeling much better after my massage from Rich on Friday who spent an hour and 40 minutes destroying my calfs.
