Springvale Road Hill session :

3 x sets of the bottom three - jog back recovery. + 6* 8-10s Bates sprints.

Working really hard on Bates on each one. Fastest time I’ve ever ran up it.

Solid session, working hard. Legs feeling strong, a considerable difference in pace since I last did this session in November.

Really fucking hard session tonight, an enjoyable evening though once I got out the door. No way on earth I was doing anything tonight, but thanks to Nic I got dragged around. Felt pretty good, but working bloody hard for it, almost like in an XC race, so I guess this is ticking the specificity box in prep for the nationals in a few weeks.

Managing to stay close to Nic on all three reps using my draining surging techniques. A lot of climb in the session tonight so good hill practice.

My body feels tired now though and I feel like more miles or training any harder I might break. I just need to stay consistent.

Feeling pretty tired tonight.

Planned on doing 2km, 1600,1200,800,600,400 with increasing recoveries and speeds with each rep.

However after first 2km it was obviously not going to happen. The slow 2km at 6 min mile pace felt hard and my HR was higher than usual. All the signed of being a bit fatigued. Then did mile in 5:45 before calling it a day and doing 200's, relaxed at 1500m pace with 200 jog recovery.

Felt good for getting some relaxed 200's in and some speed specific running @ Target/dream 1500m pace.

Run to the Northern General. I managed to have a good sleep last night and felt better for it this morning. I've got a lot of DOMS today from the weights on Saturday. Legs are really aching. However I felt ok when running this morning and its interesting that such terrible DOMS doesn't always result in heavy, laboured running.
