Northern Road Relays - Leg 6

A great day out and overall a fantastic performance by Hallamshire. The sun shining made everything feel great.

On a personal note - I got very carried away for the first 3/4 of a mile and went over the red line. Learnt a valuable lesson today in how easy it is to go off too quickly when the adrenaline is pumping, especially when you are chasing down Steve Vernon.

Feeling really good tonight. Think I was feeling the benefits of taking some time to rest over the weekend. This is by far the quickest I have done this session going into the track season and a real confidence booster. Put the spikes on for the last rep and went to the well. It makes a real difference having such a great group of guys to run with and be dragged around by.

The 200s at the end feeling pretty comfortable at 30s/200 pace.

Feel like I've got a new set of legs. Really glad I rested up for a couple of days this weekend. Not had two consecutive days off since early November and I think is probably good mentally as much as physically. It's difficult sometimes to have the confidence to back off and rest properly but it's in these rest and easy periods were the physiological adaptations happen.
