Orienteering race 1:40:37 [3]***
12c shoes: Asics Cumulus II
Not one of my better performances. I confused my map colors and ended up 2 or 300 meters off the map at control 7. Took me 42 minutes to find that control! Three other orienteers made the mistake of following me. Otherwise, a beautiful setting for a course!

Orienteering race 52:42 [3]***
shoes: Asics Cumulus II
Willamette Park O-meet. Made several moderate errors (1-4 minutes each). I seem to be running faster now, but certainly not smarter. I need to spend less time running, more time navigating. Also spent some time stuck at the bottom of a muddy hill that I couldn't climb...time to start thinking about getting some better shoes.

Thursday May 19

Running (Road/Bikepath) 39:44 [1]4.0 mi (9:55 / mi)
shoes: Asics Cumulus II
Hills with Monica and Kenai. Felt slow.

Tuesday May 17

Running long (Road/Bikepath) 1:23:53 [2]9.0 mi (9:18 / mi)
shoes: Asics Wizard
Terwillager with extra laps. Started out with Monica and Chi, very slow. Hit first landmark at 13:30, compared to my last split of 8:19. Then left them and sped up a bit. At Dunnaway Track, ran 5 laps at about 8:00 pace. The Red Lizards were there doing their weekly speed workout, but I didn't get involved. Then three more laps on the wood chip loop in the lilac garden, then back. Didn't rain most of the time, but pretty heavy the last mile or two.
