Tiger Mountain-Raging River Double Play: Best trail conditions until a 10 carat IF diamond comes along. Why didn't I think of this before? A twofer was the perfect way to cap a week of riding Olallie, Tiger 2x, and Raging River 2x. Riding the three hardest climbs in King County five times has got to be good for something! The dirt was perfect at RR and for most of Tiger. With big rain coming in, we won't see that again until an extended stretch of bone dry weather. That's about as likely to occur in the late fall/winter as a 10 carat IF diamond. The week old Powerlink trail at Tiger is already taking a beating from heavy use. A tiny bit of rain has resulted in muddy ruts on the steep sections. There is a thick cloud cover on Rainier's summit, but not the typical cloud cap that forms in advance of rain. It looks more like a volcanic eruption! Eventually, a trail will link T and RR, but until then, a seven minute drive between TH's is all it takes for the twofer.
