ELSamm/up 208th/Union Hill/down 238th/up 244th/up SE 8th/down 228th-SE 43rd. I aborted the ride when I saw a storm brewing over Tiger, Squak, and Cougar. Rode the last mile in rain. I had hoped to do 4-6 hard short climbs. Stomach is better, and the ankle is only a little stiff now. Hope to do an easy hike to test it.

I aborted the McNeil climb. I had planned on not doing it at all, but Tim changed my mind. Peer pressure! This is the first time in my life that I didn't finish a climb. It's OK, it had to happen sometime. I was a little concerned as to whether my ankle would swell up from the long ride. Better safe than sorry.

Concerned about ankle. Seeing doc today. Rode 2m RT on Bullet Bike to VMason. Got the word that it is highly unlikely I have a fracture (doc didn't think it worth an x-ray). OK to ride if it doesn't hurt. I'll test that theory tomorrow:)

Great Grand Ridge singletrack. Never came close to a biff, but I jumped off awkwardly and slightly tweaked my right ankle. It's OK, but I will ice it later. Miles are road equivalent.

We are at the normal high of 70 degrees and it feels like we are in Tahiti!

Back from a 107.2 mile ride with Reg N. as part of Reg's 150 mile ride. Reg is preparing for an incredibly hard cycling trip called Ridge of the Rockies. Montana to New Mexico over 18 straight days with only 4 days less than 100 miles:

I'm pretty sure that I've never felt as good on a 100 mile ride as I did today. I'm also pretty sure that I have never been as well hydrated. I don't think it was a coincidence.
