GR/D I couldn't resist. After the hard rain stopped this morning and the sun came out, I just had to hit the trail. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as planned. Despite the house thermometer showing a high of 60 when I returned from my ride, while I was high on GR it was 45-48 and raining at times. I wasn't dressed for that. The trails were both slick and slow rolling, which made for tricky conditions. Not a day to hit it hard. Never saw another rider or ped.

Flying MTB on auto-pilot. Felt pretty good for the 5th day of riding in a row. Doing a mellow road ride on day 3 helped. Rode hard and really well over to and around D. Even caffeine couldn't squash a little fade on the return trip. 22 Strava events, including lowered my times on two KOM's I already hold, a 2nd, 4th, and 8th overall.

GR/D MTB Cooling my jets. I rode pretty hard and very well up and over GR to D. When got there, I could no longer concentrate well, so I throttled it way back. I've been riding really hard just about every time I've ridden D since winter conditions ended. It was time for a more relaxed day. Not only to avoid burnout, but if you value your health you don't ride MTB hard unless you are 100% focused on the riding. KOM on Trad Plateau climb, a 2nd, two 3rds, a 4th, and a 9th overall.

Medina/Kirkland/Redmond "rest day" from MTB riding. Any day is a great day to ride MTB, but today was a perfect day for road riding. I decided to alter my plan of five straight MTB days by riding road on day 3. First time riding this bike this month. Up to 8th overall on Meydenbauer Bay 2 climb

I rode really well today and then on the way home stopped by one of the many little sections of rapids on Issaquah Creek to just watch the water tumble past for 15 minutes. I try to never take for granted what a wonderful place this area is to live.. Lowered my times on three segments I am already KOM on; same with two segments I am third overall

Felt really good considering it was my 3rd straight hard MTB ride. All the ingredients were in place for riding quickly up and downhill: deserted trails/excellent light/near perfect trail conditions/I was on a good day. Up to 2nd of 294 riders on Moving On Circuit.

GR/D/FSM Eye on the Ball. I wasn't riding as well as yesterday. I decided to just go with the flow, but to concentrate and ride well when I got to Duthie. I was reminded of golf. PGA pros don't miss many shots, but every week the guy who wins is the one who is the best at not missing many really important shots. Duthie is always important to me. I decided to keep my eye on the ball and not "miss any shots" when I got there. I rode very well at Duthie, and then for the rest of the ride. I broke my PR on Boot Camp and Step it Up, but Strava missed that segment.

All of the time off of the bike due to the move, etc, has finally enabled me to recover from a ton of hard riding in March. Mud in places slowed things a bit, but the tacky trail offered fantastic grip most of the time. I rode almost unconsciously well. The bike went exactly where I wanted it to without a thought. Energy was a 9+ without caffeine.

Every time I have ridden the road bike over the last 12 months + of design, permitting, and house construction I have been looking at houses for ideas, etc. Today I looked at the Cascade foothills, Lake Washington, and blooming flowers and new tree leaves. We're so happy with how things have turned out, that I don't think I even glanced at a house.

GR/D,1st ride since move to new home. I was sharp today whenever I didn't think about anything and just rode by instinct. That was most of the time, so it was a great day on the bike.

GR/D post deluge MTB ride. It was muddy, but nowhere near the mid-winter conditions I was expecting after our recent copious rainfall. It wasn't a good day to go hard anyway, as I had a hard time taking my mind off of the house. I didn't see a single other bike.

GR/D in light rain. I rode this morning in a very light rain, and never saw another bike. I didn't ride particularly well, but I enjoyed a break from the house. As a matter of fact, the house is really why I didn't ride well. I was having trouble "keeping my eye on the ball" out on the trail, as I kept thinking about stuff that has to happen with the house.

GR/D/H. The trails were perfect, I felt pretty good, and I was riding well. I was a little frustrated when my right cleat broke mid-ride. It kept releasing from the pedal, and by the end of the ride I couldn't even clip back in. Hard to ride MTB one-legged. To top it off, I came home and had emails telling me I lost two climbing KOM's on the main trail at Grand Ridge that I had held since last August. Oh well, easy come, easy go. At least our house is almost done!

GR/D with Tim W. Having one of the best MTB riders around on your rear wheel is motivating. Even with tired legs, I rode very well.
