Highlands 2.0 Validation 90/80% complete...For the first time I lowered a KOM from before my shoulder surgery/3 months off the bike. I might have worked a little harder today than I did in July 2015, but I went 28 seconds faster. This confirms what feels to me like about a 90% restoration of my pre-surgery fitness, at least for one climb. My aerobic base feels like around 80% as good, since I don't have nearly as much energy for following climbs after one pretty hard effort. Yesterday I also got validation from my surgeon that my shoulder is doing fantastic 8 months post-op.

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie 1.5x Stash the cache crash... A few tiny nicks and scrapes from brambles as I stashed a backpack, not a crash. I hid the pack full of parts and clothes near the trail before I rode. I felt like I had to go the extra mile, to make sure I hid the pack well enough so that a random passerby wouldn't stumble upon it. I dropped the bike off on my way home at the Downhill Zone, my favorite Issaquah store.

Highlands 2.0+ Seahawks Somerset bonus climb purely for the view. It was also a bonus day, as the forecast morning showers didn't show up, and there was brilliant sunshine instead.
