MTB 1:42:00 [4] 16.8 mi (9.9 mph) +1750ft
ahr:125 max:152 weight:150.2lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Grand Ridge Water Tower Loops Cell phone Navigators. I helped three different people find their way as they were staring cluelessly at their phones. GR is a pretty simple trail system, nevertheless, an old fashioned map is always a good idea.

Hiking 52:00 [2] 2.6 mi (3.0 mph) +640ft

Squak Squall complete with tiny hail and sunshine. Every time I go on this walk, I am reminded that I can't put a price on living .25m from a Squak trailhead.

Grand Ridge Water Tower Loops "The Leader Must Not Fall". I am dating myself, but that was the mantra when I learned to rock climb. I wasn't leading anybody today; in fact, I never saw another rider on my solo MTB ride. All the more reason to keep "must not fall" in the back of my mind, especially since Tracy is in Arizona.

Tiger Adventure Trail-Park Pointe It's hard to tell how old somebody is when they are super-fit. I encountered a trail running couple that looked to be in their mid-seventies. It was hard to tell, because they were going hard up a hill while smiling, which makes anyone look a lot younger.

Cycling 2:20:00 [4] 31.2 mi (13.4 mph) +3290ft
ahr:127 max:154 weight:152.4lbs shoes: SW road 2013

Breezy up on Benson Hill. Only one trip up the Highlands, mostly due to a pretty strong headwind the whole way up the climb. I didn't feel as spry as I had hoped, so my pace was pretty pedestrian (almost literally on several 15% sections). Actual MHR 154, not 216, caused by the HPC vest on the Montreaux descent.

Newcastle-SLaWa-Mercer Island Today's ride made possible by a geeky little piece of plastic. Due to a pinched nerve in my neck, today's road ride would not have been possible without my little mirror. I can't turn my head more than a few mm. A little pre-ride Bengay ointment might have helped a tiny bit, but it was hard to tell.
