Walking 55:00 [1] 3.3 mi (3.6 mph) +200ft
weight:152.4lbs (rest day) shoes: Scott Kinabalu Supertrack

DT Issy-Creekside Trail Early March transition to October. For the first half of my walk, I alternated between rain hood and sunglasses, kind of like during early March intermittent showers. On my way back, the mountains started to disappear because of steady and fairly hard rain. With a temp near 60 degrees, it felt more like October. But wait, it's late April!

Snoqualmie-North Bend-Rattlesnake Lake-Mt. Si Record latest first. I feel pretty confident that today, April 21st, is the latest date in any year that I wore a short sleeve jersey and shorts on the road bike for the first time. True, I hedged with a vest and knee warmers, which I took off fairly early on. My arm warmers didn't come off for good until very late in the ride, but it felt great to be out riding in the sun.

Grand Ridge Hitting the Wet Wall. After two days off of the bike, I thought maybe I would feel motivated to make a decent effort. Considering all of the rain, the trails are in excellent shape, but I am tired of riding on wet dirt. I cut the ride short to save energy for what should be a great road ride tomorrow.

Rainier Trail-Park Pointe-Sycamore Rain effect but unfortunately no rain shadow. On my walk, I witnessed the effect Tiger and Squak Mountains have on rain. I finished my walk under blue skies, but the mountains were still shrouded with thick rain clouds. The Issaquah Alps aren't high enough to provide a rain shadow like the Olympics do for the San Juan Islands. Issaquah gets more rain than Seattle, and North Bend gets (lots) more rain than Issaquah.

MTB 2:08:00 [4] 20.2 mi (9.5 mph) +2100ft
ahr:120 max:148 weight:151.2lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Grand Ridge Water Tower loops 3x Finally time for Prime-Time. It's the first time the trails have been really dry since February, and the first time I have ridden the "summer" dry trail bike since then. That was incentive enough to ride very well at times, even though I am really tired from three straight hard riding days.

Redmond-Kirkland-Medina-MIs-SLWa All Campagnolo but light on Ferrari's and Lambo's. Early in my ride, I stopped by the All Italian car show at XXX Root Beer in Issaquah. There were plenty of Alfa's, Fiat's, and Lancia's, but only a smattering of Ferrari's. The solo Lamborghini was a 1970 Espada, and it was UG-ly.
