Walking 40:00 [1] 2.4 mi (3.6 mph) +312ft
weight:148lbs (rest day) shoes: Scott Kinabalu Supertrack

Two birds two days in a row. Yesterday Tracy and I walked a bike to the Downhill Zone shop before we went to dinner and the Art Walk. Today we walked to DHZ and picked up my bike. It's always feels weird to walk alongside a bike instead of riding it.

Grand Ridge-Duthie-Soaring Eagle Marble-free Zone. The trails are very dry. There are lots of marble-sized rocks in the corners, and that makes riding quickly a bit dicey. But not at Duthie, where the corners have all been swept. It's the first time I have seen this. I don't know how it was accomplished, but it's nice! I felt strong today and rode very well.

Grand Ridge-Duthie-Soaring Eagle Smart bear or a dumb bear with a smart phone? At Duthie, a bear had knocked over a big trash dumpster. Perhaps he used Google to figure out how to un-bear proof it, because it was obvious that he had a feast after releasing the contents all over the ground.

Riding with Tracy. Today was Tracy's first ride in a long, long time.

Grand Ridge-Duthie-Soaring Eagle Finders Keepers. I took the road home from Duthie instead of riding back over Grand Ridge. Just outside of the park, there was a mountain bike front fender on the side of the road. It was the type of fender I used on my winter bike a few years back. Not fifty yards later, there was a new looking Titleist golf glove off to the side. I rode by and then my primal scavenger instinct kicked in, so I turned around. Turns out the glove fits and it's a Players model ($25 MSRP). It will come in handy when (and if) I actually do return to playing golf! I rode to PT before I hit the trails.

Redmond-Kirkland-Medina-Renton-Cedar Grove National Tandem Day? I didn't see many bikes until I was on the South Lake Washington "trade route." At that point, there was some kind of organized ride coming towards me. There were a highly unusual number of tandems, including several recumbent versions. Recumbents look odd enough solo!
