MTB 2:49:00 [4] 25.9 mi (9.2 mph) +3206ft
ahr:120 max:149 weight:148.2lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Grand Ridge RT-HP I had zero power, but only before the ride. The morning was forecast to be rainy and windy. There was no wind, but a bit of light rain, so I decided to wait it out. Ten minutes before I left at 1 PM, the wind started up and the power went out at the house. Turns out that a tree blew over and knocked down a telephone pole just around the corner. After riding under a live wire, I felt great on a very rare (for me) post-lunch afternoon ride. I guess I was buzzed. We finally got power back at 3:45 AM.

Grand Ridge RT Singing in the (light to moderate) rain. I was singing because the trails were deserted and once again in shockingly good shape after lots of rain. We've had 10.08" of rain at the house since a long dry spell ended early in January. That's over 4" more than the official Seattle MTD total.

Wednesday Jan 24 #

Walking 56:00 [1] 3.6 mi (3.9 mph) +200ft
(rest day) shoes: Scott Kinabalu Supertrack

I almost pulled the trigger. I waited for the rain to taper off this morning before riding MTB. It eventually did, but for some reason, I usually don't like starting a ride after about 11 AM. After a bout of vacillation, I went for a walk to REI and looked at sunglasses, of all things. I also stopped by the Downhill Zone and chatted with Adam for quite awhile.

PP-HP-Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-HP-PP: Belonging to the Opportunist Club is more luxurious than any country club. I was a member at several nice golf clubs in a past life, and have played some of the best courses around the country. That pales in comparison to the opportunity and freedom to ride my bikes any time I want to.That's especially true living in Issaquah, where I have superb road and MTB riding from the garage. I got in a (mostly) sunny hard ride before the next round of rain arrives.

Sunday Jan 21 #

Walking 1:05:00 [1] 3.9 mi (3.6 mph) +250ft
(rest day) shoes: Scott Kinabalu Supertrack

It's nice to have a local REI we can walk to. Tracy and I walked to REI, just like we used to do when we lived in DT Seattle for ten years. Living in an outdoorsy place means multiple REI stores, even if our local Issaquah store isn't a behemoth like the Seattle store.
