Can't find Garmin. Olallie addiction level test and thinking like a furloughed pilot. The view of the inside of a cloud is pretty cool, so maybe pilots miss it? Drive to TH in drizzle+very dark at the TH+entire ride in the rain+ton of fun=highly addicted to the 10+ mile Olallie climb. The descent is pretty sweet too.

If a tree falls on you in the forest you are not going to hear it. You might hear the "crack," but not the "boom." Forecasted winds of 40mph on top of Squak Mountain made me think hiking there from home was not a good idea. This seems to be the time of the year when a lot of rotted out trees topple over. It was just breezy in town, but warm enough for shorts, so I took a hood walk instead.

Grand Ridge RT: Does a birthday ride have to be arduous to be worthy? If so, does a mountain bike ride in the rain qualify? Playing like a kid seems like a good idea to me for a birthday, and today fit the bill.

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Nice little surprises. I did a longish ride because the weather was surprisingly nice and there was a surprising amount of sunshine, especially considering the rain that is supposed to move in this evening. Since I was at Soaring Eagle last week, KCP has blown the leaves off of 90% of the trails. Not surprisingly, I had the trails mostly to myself, but I am always surprised that more people are not out in the woods on a nice day.

PP-HP-Grand Ridge OAB: Has winter been cancelled on the trails? It's not winter yet, but after 3.7" of rain over the last four days, I expected to see winter wet trails for the first time this fall. The trails were in surprisingly great shape, and I enjoyed a bit of light rain on the second half of the ride.
