Hiking 58:00 [2] 3.0 mi (3.1 mph) +843ft
weight:150.6lbs (rest day) shoes: Altra Olympus

Squak hike: Tracy wasn't worried about looking a little puffy while wearing my puffy jacket. Tracy was tired from hot yoga, and I was tired from TMR. An easy hike was the Rx for the day.

Friday Feb 22 #

MTB 2:05:00 [3] 23.0 mi (11.0 mph) +1818ft
ahr:122 max:151 weight:150.4lbs shoes: Comp MTB 2011

Park Pointe-Preston-Fall City (almost): Six for seven is a good start for a comeback. December injury+January cold+February snow shutdown for two weeks=lot of time off of the bike. Riding six of the last seven days felt great!

Thursday Feb 21 #

MTB 2:20:00 [3] 25.9 mi (11.1 mph) +2138ft
ahr:115 max:146 weight:150.6lbs shoes: Comp MTB 2011

Grand Ridge-Preston: The north side of GR is now somewhat rideable (more like slidable). I turned around after 1.5 miles picking my way down the north side. I'm not much on snow riding (or snow in general). Gotta love how they plowed the Preston-Snoqualmie Trail.

Wednesday Feb 20 #

MTB 2:16:00 [4] 21.8 mi (9.6 mph) +2546ft
ahr:123 max:155 weight:150.2lbs shoes: Comp MTB 2011

Grand Ridge-Preston: Staying South. Once again I rode all of the trails on the south side of GR. I ventured down the north side, but the trail is still pretty snow covered.

Walking 1:00:00 [1] 3.3 mi (3.3 mph) +300ft
(rest day) shoes: Scott Kinabalu Supertrack

MTB 1:37:00 [3] 15.3 mi (9.5 mph) +2117ft
ahr:121 max:152 weight:150.6lbs shoes: Comp MTB 2011

Grand Ridge three-peat after 20 year (at least) weather event forces longest ever bike hiatus. It was nice to do three straight rides after two full weeks of weather induced riding withdrawal symptoms. We lived in DT Seattle in 2008 when a snowstorm kept me off the road bike for a week, and for 5-7 days in 2011 an ice storm shut me down. In twenty years of living in Seattle, that was the longest off-bike period...until 2019. I'm glad it's over! I rode all of the trails on the south side of Grand Ridge. The entire north side is still snowed in.

Sunday Feb 17 #

MTB 1:37:00 [3] 17.1 mi (10.6 mph) +1978ft
ahr:120 max:149 weight:150.6lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Ticky Tack pavement (with gravel), Grand Ridge dirt (with slush), Preston gravel (with snow): I'd hate to live in a place where the weather (and roads) are like this all winter. I rode a MTB to the top of the Highlands for the first time, and I was happy not to be on skinny tires. I've never seen so much sand on the roads, and so much lingering black snow. It looks like the East Coast.
