Grand Ridge-Duthie: I hope that is the last fresh snow I see for a long time, and the last sticky situation. Up high the trails were frosty with a little new snow. I took the road home from Duthie to avoid a crowded return trip on GR, but also to avoid peanut butter mud that was forming fast. Frosty trails overnight and a strong March sun makes for a sticky situation when the thaw comes. The bike photo is from last week when I was in the muck.

MTB 2:32:00 [4] 23.8 mi (9.4 mph) +2822ft
ahr:120 max:149 weight:149.8lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Grand Ridge RT-HP-PP: It's a wrap. It was fitting that on my 11th straight riding day, I rode the RR for the 1st time since January 31st. Tomorrow needs to be a DOB, so I hope that it does indeed rain (or snow). I need a reason to stay off of the bike!

Tuesday Mar 5 #

MTB 1:33:00 [2] 18.8 mi (12.1 mph) +1180ft
ahr:105 max:127 weight:149.8lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Preston-High Point-Park Pointe: Shut up legs? The legs were telling me that a DOB would have been smarter than riding for my 10th day in a row. I listened to them and rode right by the GR TH. It was too beautiful of a day not to ride, so I rode EZPZ.

Monday Mar 4 #

MTB 4:01:00 [3] 36.3 mi (9.0 mph) +3845ft
ahr:114 max:146 weight:149.8lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle-High Point: A bit of a jolt came in handy on my ninth straight riding day. I only use caffeine on the bike, and have not had any since January. Today was also my first four hour ride since August, and 60mg of Go Juice took me from a 5 on the Energy Meter to about a 7.5 for the return trip up and over Grand Ridge. I even took the long way home from there.

Sunday Mar 3 #

MTB 2:46:00 [4] 28.6 mi (10.3 mph) +2757ft
ahr:125 max:158 weight:150.2lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Grand Ridge-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Happy Anniversary! Tracy did the Hot Chocolate 15k run in DT Seattle early this morning, and I rode my bike, but now we will hang out together for the rest of our wedding anniversary. It's also the six month anniversary since the last time I rode my road bike. The trails are in great shape, but way too busy for fast riding, so I took the pavement home from Soaring Eagle.
