MTB 3:30:00 [4] 34.3 mi (9.8 mph) +3621ft
ahr:120 max:152 weight:148.4lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie 3x: Only two possible explanations, unless it is Tracy. After six hard rides in a row and nine in the last ten days, I feel amazingly better than I deserve because: 1) summer weather joy 2) improving fitness/recovery. Or is it because I have a pretty wife fifteen years younger than me who keeps me feeling young, or is Tracy slipping EPO into my OJ? I did part of the ride with Paul and Jim.

Thursday Mar 21 #

MTB 3:35:00 [4] 36.9 mi (10.3 mph) +3775ft
ahr:119 max:143 weight:147.6lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Road Kill. I saw a dead squirrel and a dead mouse on the trail, and neither looked to have expired of natural causes. Given that it was my fifth straight day of hard riding, I should have been road kill as well, but I felt surprisingly good. It was nice to ride for Greg for a bit at the start of the ride.

Wednesday Mar 20 #

MTB 2:47:00 [3] 27.6 mi (9.9 mph) +2766ft
ahr:116 max:145 weight:148.8lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Grand Ridge-Duthie 2.5x: 1st day of spring and summer weather means summer hours on the summer bike. As in, over 19 hours ride time and 18k of climbing over the last week with one day off. It was nice to run into Scott at GR. Glad to be back on the RR.

Tuesday Mar 19 #

MTB 3:22:00 [3] 31.5 mi (9.4 mph) +2987ft
ahr:112 max:149 weight:149.4lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Grand Ridge-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: What a nice 78 degree summer day on the last day of winter. It was a fun ride with Greg.

Monday Mar 18 #

MTB 3:09:00 [3] 31.5 mi (10.0 mph) +3036ft
ahr:114 max:142 weight:148.8lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Grand Ridge-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Summer temperatures and trail conditions require a summer kit and bike. I took care of the kit by wearing my new short sleeve Assos South Africa Cape Epic MTB race jersey for the first time. I was on my "winter bike," but before the ride I removed the fenders I installed last November.

Sunday Mar 17 #

Cycling 2:30:00 [4] 40.2 mi (16.1 mph) +2257ft
ahr:130 max:160 weight:148lbs shoes: SW road 2013

Redmond-Kirkland-Medina: Six months, two weeks, and one day since my last road ride. I was like a kid in a candy store, because today's ride was about 10 (100?) times more fun than I expected it to be! By the time I rolled to the bottom of the driveway, the bike felt as familiar as if I had been riding it every day. I guess riding 10,000 road miles a year for many years helped make today feel "just like riding a bike."
