Olallie 2x: Record established in March falls in April. Just after midnight, we had .03" of rain, making today the 16th straight day of measurable rainfall. That eclipses the record of 14 days in a row set in March! My high point was the "Campsite," the 1st time I've been there since Feb. 2nd.

Gold's-Lake Sammamish-Costco one-way walkabout. Tracy dropped me off when she went to the gym and then I met her at Costco for grocery shopping. The last part in Lake Samm was on a somewhat muddy unmaintained trail along Issaquah Creek.

Grand Ridge-Duthie: A lesson for another clueless dog owner. "Leave it, leave it" was the request made in a sing-song voice as two eighty pound dogs barreled towards me. Not taking any chances, I stopped and got a foot ready to defend myself. I heard "Leave it" again as I rode away, and then a low guttural growl as the dogs chased after me. Turning my head and looking back at the dogs, I yelled "NO, NO" in a loud, harsh, and aggressive voice, a tone that I knew these untrained and out of control dogs had never heard before. The word wasn't important, since these dogs were not familiar with any commands. Leash your dogs and control them! Why not even train them? That's not my job!

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Good soil isn't interchangeable with common dirt. In contrast with yesterday's snow and mud at Raging River, I had spectacular trail conditions at GR-D-SE. I'm no Dirt Doctor, but I know that RR (and Tiger) trails have a lot of clay that prevents them from draining as well as GR (and Olallie).

ahr:117 max:144 weight:147lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Raging River-Preston-High Point-Home: Fresh tracks, recon, and a reminder. Today was my first ride at RR since late January. I was reminded that if it is wet anywhere, it will be muddy at RR, and a muddy RR just isn't that much fun, nor is it worth going if I can't ride all the way across the clearcut. Despite the blue skies, as I rode higher into a fog zone, it hailed lightly for a few minutes. Last night's fresh snow started around 2600' elevation.

Local trails and gravel EZPZ with an Italian pit stop. I didn't expect to see a Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona on a cloudy day with showers possible. There was a 2019 Portofino (ho-hum) as well as an odd Lambo or two at All Italian Day, as well as a smattering of Ducati motorcycles.
