Medina-Kirkland-Bothell-Marymoor: Rolling Rolex. Ahh, my road bike sounds: the Campy Record Hub freewheel sounds like a fine Swiss mechanical watch. The Super Record shifting precision surely compares to a Formula One car...and I love that "snick-snick" sound!

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Yet another mountain biking first, thanks to this unsummerlike (so far) summer. We didn't have any rain overnight at the house, I never got rained on riding, it's mid-July, I rode in the sun for my whole ride, and yet I got dirtier than I normally do in the winter. I started on hero dirt, but the trail was wet as I started down the north side of GR. By the time I got to Duthie, there were a lot of mud puddles. I came upon a KCP crew (see photo) taking down a tree, and Rob said that it rained hard at Duthie for a long time this morning. The sun quickly dried the trails, but the dirt damage was done by then. Our rain gauge was still bone dry when I got home.

Olallie Ridge: I was beginning to worry that George did not survive the winter. As in, George the 200# mountain goat that hangs out on Olallie Ridge below Mt. Washington. I rode to the most remote Olallie spot that I go to, and that is where I saw him for the first time in 2019. I drove into a thick overcast in North Bend. I climbed above it into sunshine at the six mile point of the climb. I hit another layer up on the ridge, which resulted in some cool photos. The dirt was fantastic today.
