Olallie Ridge RAMROD Day: Nobody to run into me, but I was also not likely to run into anyone. Despite brilliant mid-summer weather, there wasn't a car in the TH parking lot when I arrived. That set my mind at ease that I wasn't likely to encounter a downhill rider on the ten mile OAB climb. Perhaps cause for a bit of unease was the fact that I probably wasn't going to run into a soul if I had trouble on the trail, other than maybe George the mountain goat. Aware of the isolation, I adhered to my 70% rule on the descent. I still went pretty quickly, because I rode well and the trails are in superb condition. I had my own mountain adventure on RAMROD day.

Raging River OAB: Not playing with marbles and dust bunnies this summer (so far). The only requirement for continued superb trail conditions is a little rain every so often. It was sunny down low, but the fog in the upper clearcut made for a very apocalyptic vibe. Hands down, trail conditions are the best I have ever seen for mid-summer: dust free, almost no corner marbles and near hero dirt grip.

Cycling 2:12:00 [3] 35.7 mi (16.2 mph) +2195ft
ahr:120 max:150 weight:148.4lbs shoes: SW road 2013

Mercer Island: Smooth as a baby's bottom, a Formula 1 track, or freshly paved Tour de France alpine roads. The new tarmac on the curvy section of NE Mercer is sweet! There was hardly a car on the roads today, and that made for an enjoyable ride.

ahr:135 max:155 weight:147.6lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Olallie to start of ridge: Folding on a solid hand. It was a spectacular morning, and the trail was in fantastic shape, but I cut my planned ride far out on the ridge short. I just didn't have good energy, and I figured I would save as much as I could for the rest of the week.
