Lake Sammamish loop: Long enough for cookies. I try not to eat junky food, but I've always figured anything goes on the bike, as long as I ride long enough to justify eating something. I definitely felt yesterday's hard ride at Raging River, but the legs felt better than I thought they might.

Raging River-Home: The monkey is off my back and I feel another year younger! For the last 10 years, my annual goal has been to prove to myself that I am getting stronger, not older. I do this by lowering my PR's on benchmark climbs. I am now 10/10. RR and Olallie are the longest and hardest climbs around, and today I shattered my 2018 PR's on the climb to the towers and the full climb to the top of No Service. I am ridiculously past the age where this is supposed to be possible, but I like my chances at Olallie!

Raging River-Home: SS was good enough, and that is a nice confidence builder. A steady and solid (with a lot of Sweet Spot) effort was enough to set my YTD PR's on the climb to the towers and the full climb to No Service, and got me to within 2-3% of my all time PR's set late in August of 2018. I have absolute confidence that I can break those times, should I choose to do so. Who am I kidding? Of course I will try and lower those PR's. The fitness is there, and I just need to get my form in line with some well timed rest. I was not well rested today, and made nowhere near a PR effort, but I went well.

Olallie: Smoky but not stinky. The air is a little hazy for the first time this summer. You can see smoke from a wildfire, but I can't smell (or taste!) it.
