Redmond-DT Bellevue-Eastgate: Sundial Safety Special. Following an overnight low of 22 degrees, my route plan was to stay in the sun as much as possible. Not because the sun provides much more than psychological warmth, but to minimize the frost hazard. This time of the year I usually don't ride before 11:30 or after 2:30 for the same reason. Nevertheless, Mercer Slough was still sketchy as usual on a frosty day.

Grand Ridge RT: Somewhat chilly and hilly. Staying warm riding a mountain bike is easier than on a road bike, but I waited until the roads thawed a bit so that I could ride safely to the trailhead. There was a lot of frost on the north side, but it wasn't nearly warm enough for it to melt, so the trails were mud-free. It was 32 at the house when I left, and the same when I got home.

Lower back disc tenderness-stiff:started in right shoulder blade, then moved to lower left back. First back stiffness/disc pain since September 2017 when it also started as lower left stiffness. Took two Advil, my first since June.

Redmond-520-DT BV-Eastgate Way: Early holidays thanks to the Seahawks. The only days better for road riding than a Sunday with a 10 AM game are Thanksgiving, XMAS, and New Year's Day. I took advantage of incredibly light traffic to check out a few roads I have not ridden for awhile. I was pleased to see upgraded cycling infrastructure on the 520 Trail, Northrup Way, and SE Eastgate Way by the P&R.
