MTB 1:30:00 [3] 18.5 mi (12.3 mph) +1109ft
ahr:116 max:135 weight:148.2lbs shoes: Comp MTB 2011

Park Pointe-HP-Preston-Pickering: Microclimates and slicey bridges. Issy gravel and low trails are snow free. Preston gets more snow and is colder, so there was a fair amount of snow left. Wood bridges are always mossy and slick, and even more so when covered with slush and ice!

Cycling 2:36:00 [3] 39.3 mi (15.1 mph) +1910ft
ahr:124 max:150 weight:147.4lbs shoes: SW Road 2008

Redmond-520-Medina-BV-Eastgate: Streak #2 in jeopardy? It hasn't rained today (yet), but we've had measurable precip on the prior 23 days, dating back to XMAS. Leading up to a dry XMAS, it rained at some point during the previous 19 days. That makes for 42 wet days of the last 43. It's supposed to start raining at 10:30 PM. If it doesn't, we'll be starting Streak #3 tomorrow! On Wed. we barely kept the current streak alive with .03" of measurable snow flurries.

Park Pointe-HP-Preston: Just short of "I must be a little crazy?" It was a good day to work on bike handling, particularly countersteering to correct a lot of sliding all over the place. Oh well, I stayed upright and I got outside.

Park Pointe-HP-Preston-Lake Samm: "You're an animal" "Maybe one with rabies!" was my reply to the dog walker I encountered just after I left home in a steady downpour. Later on, I paid it forward when I called out "Great form!" to a runner who looked smooth and strong enough to be a pro. It rained for 45 minutes and then stopped. I felt like a caged animal on the trainer yesterday, but today I was downright exuberant to be riding outdoors!
