Local trails, gravel, and roads: Election hangover recovery. Judging by how many hikers, walker, runners, and riders I saw, everybody is glad the damn election is over, no matter what side you are on. Despite truly gloomy looking weather, chilly temps, and a little drizzle, there were tons of people out. The majority were wearing masks, so maybe there is some hope yet.

MTB 2:51:00 [4] 26.3 mi (9.2 mph) +3462ft
ahr:113 max:144 weight:148.2lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie: First crossing, but without a ribbon cutting. Rob from King County Parks had just taken down the signs for the temporary trail re-route as I rode up to the new bridge on the Coal Mine Trail at GR. The bridge was now officially open. Rob took a photo of me, as I was the first to ride across. The creek has been washing out the trail in this spot almost every winter. The new bridge looks to be bombproof, as solid as if the Army Corps of Engineers had designed and built it. Thanks KCP!

Olallie Backcountry Adventure: Two days later felt two seasons apart. Just as with my Tiger-Raging River ride on Monday, the temp was 65 degrees, so I once again wore short sleeves. As opposed to Monday's dry Hero Dirt, deep blue skies, and calm winds, today it was quite windy, the trail was wet, and I had a tiny bit of scattered sunshine (and drizzle) mixed in with the mostly cloudy (and foggy) skies. No Rainier view! Despite 1.61" of rain yesterday, the trail was in good shape, with almost no mud or standing water, but it did feel a bit like winter compared to Monday's summer. I only saw three riders (including Mike B), and nobody for the first 2.5+ hours.

Tiger Mountain-Raging River Diamond in the Rough Double Play. I was thinking it might be the last great trail conditions I see for awhile at Tiger/RR when I did this same ride three weeks ago: https://www.strava.com/activities/4173390465 Despite the usual October rains (and some snow above 3000'), the dirt was near perfect today. Thanks to an inversion, I had temps in the 60's to go with the brilliant blue sky.
