MTB 1:00:00 [3] 12.5 mi (12.5 mph) +1034ft
weight:147.6lbs shoes: Comp MTB 2011

Local gravel to Preston: Fat was better than skinny today. After an overnight low of 28, I waited for the very slow warmup. There were still some frosty areas, so I decided on "fat" MTB tires instead of skinny road tires. Today's short and easy ride caps off another solid riding week of 13+h and 15,700' of climbing.

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: The best words to hear at an annual physical. My long term GP remarked, "Do you ever plan on acting your age?" To which I replied, "I am trying to hold onto 30 as long as possible." He came back with, "Let me know when you bump it up to 35!" Later on, I mentioned that a lot has changed in the world since I saw him last January. He agreed, but told me that nothing had changed with me:) I guess my Doc inspired me, because I felt great on yet another long and hard MTB ride.

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Double piles of rubble trouble. After yesterday's Olallie-Raging River 5000+' climbing double, I figured my legs would feel like rubble. I actually felt a lot better than expected, with legs that maybe felt like piles of wood chips? In any case, I didn't ride fast, not even quick, but I rode really well today. I never put a wheel out of place or missed a line. I was psyched for two hard days in a row riding the RR on trails in incredible condition for any time of the year, let alone mid-winter.

Olallie Raging River Double Bubble. I have not ridden O or RR since November. I have not ridden O or RR since November. I decided to visit both and take advantage of a bubble of great trail conditions in the midst of a very wet winter. The dirt was mostly damp with very little mud, with the exception of the upper clearcut to No Service at RR. A sunny thaw followed overnight frost, resulting in the usual peanut butter mud. I turned around at that point, as I was riding the summer bike without fenders. I only saw five people.

Cycling 1:42:00 [3] 28.1 mi (16.5 mph) +700ft

Lake Sammamish-Marymoor-Redmond: Mini-break complete. After solid riding last week, the last three days I took a DOB and did two very EZPZ rides. It wasn't easy to be disciplined and take it easy, but I have another hard week planned.
