MTB 3:40:00 [4] 34.4 mi (9.4 mph) +3696ft
ahr:112 max:147 weight:148lbs shoes: SW MTB 2012

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Today's bike choice was an easy one. As in, ride the one that is dirty from my last ride! It's rained the last 7 days, 9 of the last 10, and 11 of the last 13. It was supposed to have stopped raining right before I left, but it rained the entire time I was at Duthie and SE. Today was my first truly wet and muddy ride in a long time, and I had a blast! My waterproof socks came in handy, but I could have used the WP gloves as well. Mac the Tough Mudder validated his name on this ride. Only 3 rides this week, but 10.4h ride time and 11,870' of pretty tough climbing.

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: To think I used to avoid SE at this time of the year. Soaring Eagle used to be a muddy mess in the winter. Thanks to numerous trail improvements by King County Parks and Evergreen, I now seek it out all year long. Despite nearly two inches of rain Monday and Tuesday, the trails were mostly just damp and in good shape. There were some wet spots and puddles, but that is what a dedicated wet trail bike is for!

Walking 52:00 [1] 2.8 mi (3.2 mph) +565ft
weight:148.8lbs (rest day) shoes: Hoka Bondi 6

Squak Mountain road climb via foot. I thought about picking a window and heading out on the bike, but instead opted for a second rest day after a hard road ride Sunday. Garmin shut off at the top of the hill. Actual 2.8m/:52.

ahr:125 max:150 weight:149lbs shoes: SW Road 2008

Six pack of local Hills of the West Coast climbs: Back burnered perhaps, but never forgotten. Yesterday marked ten years since my first Issaquah mountain bike ride. Cycling was never the same for me after that day. Before long, almost all of my hard riding focus went toward MTB, and I stopped leading the HOWC. I still love road riding, but most of the time I don't ride hard. Todays ride was definitely not at HOWC pace (more like survival), but it was a solid mid-winter ride, and a good way to cap off 59,000' of January climbing.
