Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Good to not be an Open Mouth Breather. Given the increasing proclivity of flying insects lately, as well as the density of cottonwood seeds floating through the air, it's good to keep one's mouth shut whenever possible! Another non-stopper today.

Tiger Mountain-Raging River Twin Tops: Modified 70-90-95 strategy. My downhill go fast thinking: 70% of my skills limit=90% of the fastest I could go=95% chance of not falling off. As soon as I started climbing Tiger, I knew I didn't have the energy to PR the "Linking the Links" full climb, so obviously there was zero chance of a PR on the "K2" up-down or the "XC Circuit" loop. So I backed off and went to 50% of limit=70% of top speed=100% keeping bones and skin intact (OK, 99%, after all, it is mountain biking). The energy I saved at Tiger came in handy on the much harder 9.5 mile climb to the top of RR!

Sammamish River and Lake Cruise. An easy "tweener" after yesterday's hard Olallie climb and tomorrow's Tiger-Raging River double.

Olallie Bears. I saw one of the larger bears I have seen in the Cascades. It was sort of up close and personal with big momma and her pretty large cub. They were strolling up the trail about 60' ahead of me, at least until I switched on my Timber Bell. Tracy and I rode to NB together, and she hiked up the Rattlesnake Ledge Highway.
