Walking 50:00 [1] 3.0 mi (3.6 mph) +260ft
weight:148.8lbs (rest day) shoes: Hoka Clifton 7

Sycamore-Rainier Trail with Tracy. It turned into a pretty nice day (mostly), but I stuck to my plans for a DOB.

MTB 3:18:00 [4] 35.1 mi (10.6 mph) +4010ft
ahr:122 max:146 weight:149lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Ugly from any angle. I tried to be extra courteous as I overtook a young girl at Duthie who was an obvious newbie. She looked tentative and I did my best not to startle her. I watched as her front wheel wandered off the trail, hit something, and then over the bars she went. Even at a very low speed, an endo is the worst type of fall. This was the second time in the last few weeks that I watched from behind as someone went head over heels (why not heels over head?). The last time it was a dude on a silly motorized uni-scooter. My only ride stop today was to make sure she was OK. cE8.5 RE7-7.5

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: The thrill is back. Normally I do lots of hard riding at this time of the year. Recently, I've lacked my usual enthusiasm to ride, because I am a little burned out. I'm going to ride however I feel like for awhile. Riding less than hard is still thrilling; just a different kind of thrilling. Actually, riding any kind of bike anywhere, anytime is always thrilling to me, just like it is for a little kid. I'll know when it's time to get back to some hard riding. cE8+? RE7-7.5 Swapped Varus wegdes to Valgus (outside edge of shoe shim)

Hiking 54:00 [2] 2.8 mi (3.1 mph) +700ft
weight:150.2lbs (rest day) shoes: Hoka Bondi 6

Squak Mountain backyard hike: Sign from above, as in the sky. As I contemplated my road bike route, the sky darkened and the temp dropped to 48. Soon it was drizzling, followed by light rain, and then moderate rain. The only small rain cloud on the radar was over Issaquah and my house! I took that as an omen to not ride and rest today. Sunny skies and 62 when I finished my hike.

Cycling 3:22:00 [4] 34.3 mi (10.2 mph) +3905ft
ahr:112 max:138 weight:150.8lbs shoes: SW MTB 2014 Bling

Gand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Ride into the Danger Zone. First MTB ride in a week. I had simultaneously been fast approaching the "overconfidence zone," as well as the "burned out on hard riding" zone. That combo is a recipe for the Danger Zone, so I took a week off the MTB. My concentration was so bad today that I was halfway into the ride before I realized how poorly I was riding! I did better from that point on, but I am still not out of the DZ.

Cycling 2:52:00 [4] 50.6 mi (17.7 mph) +2613ft
ahr:130 max:157 weight:148.4lbs shoes: SW road 2013

MIs-Seward-Cedar River-Lake Francis: Smart in a race, but tacky everywhere else.A rider pulled out right in front of me at the Mercer Island lid. I went around him, as I was riding faster. Of course, he then sped up and latched onto my wheel, taking a free ride into a headwind the entire way across the I-90 bridge. I planned on dropping him as we started up the hill to the Mt. Baker tunnel, but he whipped around me, put his head down and hammered away. At first I just laughed and let him go, but I changed my mind. I put my own hammer down, reeled him in, and then in my mirror watched his head go down again, this time in blown up defeat. HaHa! Speaking of races, I wore Ferrari red and yellow. I like their chances in today's inaugural Miami Formula 1.
