Walking 50:00 [1] 3.2 mi (3.8 mph) +230ft
weight:152.2lbs (rest day) shoes: Hoka Clifton 9

sTroll-Sycamore: Bear with us. We came upon a quite large bear on the short trail at the end of Sunrise Place that connect with Sycamore. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we were not close enough for a photo before he lumbered off into the brush.

Friday May 24 #

Cycling 1:31:00 [3] 27.0 mi (17.8 mph) +633ft
ahr:114 max:132 weight:151.2lbs shoes: SW road 2013

Lake Sammamish loop: Cat insurance. Nothing more than a few sprinkles fell on me, so of course I thought of Sprinkles, Angela's cat on The Office. Dwight "euthanized" Sprinkles by putting him the freezer while he was still alive. I ensured I would beat the approaching rain by throwing on my rear fender and taking my vest...just in case. The strategy worked as usual. E4 tired as I have been in long time RE 5 HR

Walking 40:00 [1] 2.0 mi (3.0 mph) +50ft
shoes: Hoka Bondi 6

Thursday May 23 #

Cycling 2:53:00 [4] 39.1 mi (13.6 mph) +4574ft
ahr:127 max:150 weight:152lbs shoes: SW EXOS 2022

Cougar Climbs: Back at it. Pun intended.Pun intended. My stiff lower back is back (HaHa) to 100%. Today's Toughies: Somerset the easy way/Forest/Sky Country TH/Cougar towers 2x/Montreux/HV-Summit/Lakemont. cE9 RE 8-8.5 normal EHR/HRR

Wednesday May 22 #

Walking 45:00 [1] 2.7 mi (3.6 mph) +250ft
weight:151.4lbs (rest day) shoes: Hoka Clifton 9

Sycamore sTroll: Back up (and running) plan. My lower back is a little stiff, but not too stiff to ride. The rest of my body was telling me a DOB was not a bad idea anyway. I felt better at the end of my easy walk than at the start. Back (pun intended) in the saddle again tomorrow.

(rest day)

Monday May 20 #

Cycling 3:09:00 [3] 54.1 mi (17.2 mph) +2455ft
ahr:119 max:140 weight:151.4lbs shoes: SW road 2013

Wood-Duvall-Carnation-Fall City-Duthie: Overthinking or underthinking. Which is worse? No doubt underthinking is potentially more dangerous, for example, overestimating your experience and skill and attempting K2, just because you were successful on Denali. But overthinking can be a PITA, which is what I have been doing with my new now not so new LOOK pedals. Today I didn't even think at all about clipping in, and that made for a "cleaner hit' on the pedal. More reflexive, less calculated worked well. cE6.5 RE 6.6 normal tired EHR/HRR

Sunday May 19 #

Cycling 3:05:00 [3] 51.8 mi (16.8 mph) +2517ft
ahr:127 max:150 weight:150.4lbs shoes: SW road 2013

Mercer Island-Downtown Bellevue-520-Marymoor: "Campy Only" I called out to one of the many riders I saw on the road today, after recognizing the shifter-brake lever hoods. "Right on" was his instant reply. Right on indeed! cE9+ but felt great from the start RE 7.2 fresh responsive HR>normal HRR little slow
