Aerobics 3:00:00 [4]
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

One of my usual Saturday routine is light weights followed by the Body Jam (Hip Hop Aerobic) class. I was looking forward to this Saturday's class because I have either been away or unavailable for the past couple of weeks.

Unfortunately on Friday, I had to drive my Mom somewhere. I was disappointed, but hey...Mom is Mom. Right?

The good news is that on Saturday morning, Mom called and said that my sister can drive her. Yahoo!!

I found a new source of energy as I arrived at the gym. I started with a heavy weight routine, followed by the Body Jam class. Interestingly...at the end of the class, the instructor announced that 'If anyone is interested, they are doing auditions for potential Aerobic instructors right after this.'

'What does an audition mean?' I asked

'You just do an 1/2 hour class on the discipline that you are interested in teaching. The only difference is that there is a panel of people looking at you, checking your coordination, etc.'

I also found out that they have 4 classes, Step, Attack (which is really a high impact land aerobic), Combat (boxing) and Jam (hip hop).

The winds start to turn the windmills of my mind...

The activity Ming thinks 'Why not? At least you'll get some extra exercise out of this'.

The retired Ming thinks 'This would be an excellent part time job.'

The financial Ming thinks 'I wonder if I am an instructor, whether I can write off my exercise equipment?'

So I went for the auditions for the Step, Attack and Combat. They will e-mail me the results. The good news is that I did 3 hours of intense exercise and boy do I feel sore today - but in a good way.

1/2 hour weights
2 1/2 hours aerobics.

The Auditioning Minister.

Run 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

For most of the summer, I've been spending most of my spare time in golf. In a way, I was preparing myself for activities that I can do when I get older. I know that at some point, I will not be able to bomb down a black diamond glaze run on a snowboard.

I was in Vancouver and Victoria last week with my family. It was one of those rare times that everyone can vacation together. And it was one of those rare moments that my kids actually want to vacation together. Almost everyday, My son Matthew and I ran, we did weight and we swim, we (Grouse) grind - basically... a lot of physical activities. :-)

I realized during that week that I missed the 'physical activities' and the associated adrenaline that comes with it. And though golf is a very challenging activity, from a physical activity point of view, it really sucks!

So I decided get back to 'physical training'.

1 hour run.

The 'I am back!' Minister.
