Sunday Apr 30

Orienteering race 1:02:47 [3] 9.4 km (6:41 / km)
spiked:17/20c
Running Tiomila's 6th leg at 6:35 in the morning. I never do these morning runs very well and this time was no exception. My legs were slow from the beginning and the technique was out of the box. I thought that with a good flow in the orienteering I could have done a good rece despite my lack of speed. Additionally, I almost broke my leg but got off with a bruised hip. The course was really dull and would have suited som 15-yera old running his first tiomila. Good for him.

Oh, the team got a dsq on the first post of the first leg!

Saturday Apr 29

Event: 10Mila 2006

Tuesday Apr 25

Running (woods) ((with map) 50:00 [2]
First o-training, without snow, this year. I still remember how to do it although I had the ordinary difficulties in concentrating. I had thought about it, but it was also the first time this year i was running with o-shoes. Consequently I have blisters. All in all it doesn't feel good for tiomila. I could have done without the last sling of flu.

Sunday Apr 23

Note
Spent the whole day outdoors organizing the qualification race for the European Champs and got too tired to do any training myself. I learned something new as I got to host the anti-doping bureau in its work. This sport isn't easy for them either.

Saturday Apr 22

Running (road) 1:00:00 [3]
First run outdoors in a loooong time. I tfelt surprisingly easy but I wasn't pushing. Just trying out what it is like to move those stiff legs. Nice. Tiomila, here I come!

Thursday Apr 20

Note
Sort of recovered from last week's flu that was the strangest I've ever had. The effects - dizziness, apathy, sore muescles - were like straight out of KoL.

Friday Apr 14

Note
(sick)
Light fewer. Rescheduling Seasonīs Opening until after easter. Whever that might be...

...and the basement's dry. Sort of.

Sunday Apr 9

Note
After two days of travelling I returned home only to find my basement flooding. Damn!

Friday Apr 7

Note
(injured)
In addition to the boringness of pulling the threadmill my "runnerīs knee" has reappeared.

Thursday Apr 6

Running (treadmill) 50:00 [3]
Got tired, not as much exhausted as bored really. Stupid thing to do.

Wednesday Apr 5

Running (treadmill) 1:15:00 [3]

Tuesday Apr 4

Running (treadmill) 1:00:00 [3]
Another hour at the threadmill - between conference and dinner.

Monday Apr 3

Running (treadmill) 1:15:00 [3]
I decided you cannot run in Beijing. I went to park nearby, that looked big enougn for some decent practice, only to find out it was an amusement park. And traffic here is completely crazy.

So I went to the fitness centre in the hotel. It is well equipped with thing I have no idea what to do with. I spent a good hour trying different carovascular machines, mostly the running mat and its hill program. Well, this is probably what I will do for the rest of the week...

Sunday Apr 2

Stairs (Stairs) 20:00 [5]
Climbed the chinese wall. Took the large climb in one rapid walk, passing a lot of people including those actually running! Then walked up and down som forking paths.

After a long tourist day and including the jet-lag I got too tired to do any actual training, again.

Saturday Apr 1

Walking 3:00:00 [1]
Walking around Beijing, got too tired to do any real exercise afterwards
