Sunday Oct 8

Orienteering 1:16:10 [3] *** 8.4 km (9:04 / km)
spiked:12/14c
Now, putting yesterday's disaster behind me I managed today to do what I should. Almost. I lost several minutes on the small paths in the end. overall ok, though.

Saturday Oct 7

Orienteering race 47:00 [3] *** 3.9 km (12:03 / km)
spiked:9/13c
NAOC Middle distance - my first touch with overseas orienteering. I totally blew it on the second control... Otherwise I made a decednt run given the circumstances. I guess this was the wrong day to try without a compass. The terrain was difficult with not too many details and reduced visibility. It would have been good to have visited the training area.

All in all the competition was a positive experience with the nice settings, winderful competiton area and all the happy people.

Friday Oct 6

Event: 2006 North American Championships (Golden Leaf Orienteering Fest)

Thursday Oct 5

Running (road) 1:00:00 [3]
Another run in the dark around the sights. More fellow runers than policemen, though.

Wednesday Oct 4

Running (road) 1:00:00 [3]
I found a good site, made by some Nadim Ahmed, recommending running loops in Washington DC. Did an extended Georgetown loop before heading down to the Bank.
