left sole is still hurting when I put weight on it on a hard surface. I will take another break from running today.

if I can keep the planes of the legs and the feet parallel to each other and the weight of the body towards the medial sides of the front feet, I can recover my soles and avoid injuring them again. it's going to take time for the body to learn the new way of running, though, so I'm going to have to be patient and to keep up the physical therapy activities.

I believe I can avoid injuring myself in the future if I can improve my running form. Specifically, I should learn to bear more weight on the balls of my feet, as opposed to the lateral sides of the fronts of the feet. This would go along with improving my general running form - keeping the planes of the two legs parallel to each other at all times.

the left sole still hurts when I let it bear weight on a hard surface. current physical therapy activities include walking on an accupressure mat and applying tiger balm to the affected part of the foot.

Note

I had hoped there would be lap swimming at the local pool this summer, as this would have made the maintenance of cardio-vascular fitness easier. unfortunately, no such luck. also, there isn't a nice, affordable gym in this part of Queens, like there is in Jackson Heights.

Note

managed to injure the front part of the left sole, left of the ball of the foot. I think this injury is mostly due to the repetitive stress of lots of running on relatively hard surfaces (rocks and pavement) over the past couple of months. I'll take it easy for a while and see if there's improvement.
