Note

Watched the second episode of Boundless last night, which you can stream live from the Travel and Escape website. I think I enjoyed this one more than the previous. Probably because it focused more on the different stages of the race, and less on the build up to the race.

Starting to think that at some point I'm going to have to do one of these staged running races.

A good long training session with the TV team. We started in Palgrave and orienteered/snowshoed down to Glen Haffy on and old Rib Raid map. At just about the moment when I was getting tired of the deep snow we popped off the snowshoes and ran the blue trails back to the cars.

A few days lost as both Kristen and I ended up sick with something. I feel like every time I try to get my training going for TV something new pops up.

Good news was tonights game was really high intensity with lots of running and quick breaks. It really felt like a full hour of intervals where I was breathing pretty hard the whole time. The bad news is we didn't play like a team that knew what it was doing on offense and got spanked.

Run into work. This was a very slow run today for 3 reasons.

1. The trails are just a mess right now with rutted ice chunks everywhere the run was as much a exercise in picking your footing as it was in running.
2. I was feeling extra hungry this morning so packed extra food for today, the homemade apple sauce with 9% fat yogurt might look good, but also weighs a bit in the pack.
3. My legs are still very tired(and sore) from Sunday. I guess your first ski of the year shouldn't be a 2 hour all our effort in a race.

Regardless it was a good run and I'm glad I forced myself to get out and do it. These are the types of workouts I believe that come and pay you back in a race when you're tired/hurting and still have the strength to push on.

Spent time with the Aubs this morning so had to move my run to lunch time. Decided since I was at work to use the tread mill to do hill repeats. 4 min at 8-9% incline.

Joined Harper, EJ and other friends for a spin at RIDE. Good group to ride with as I'm somwhere near middle/back of the pack so I'm always working hard to catch up.

The score is now 1-1 between Eddie and myself.
