Friday Sep 30

Running 30:00 [2]
Nice light run along Lakeshore this morning. Knee was feeling really good. Felt I could have kept going. Hope to get out for a bike ride tomorrow morning, have to see how it feels after that.

Wednesday Sep 28

Weights 45:00 [2]
Standard upper body workout.

Trying to decide what races if any I should do during the Ontario Champs in 2 weeks. I'm thinking the best bet is just the middle and then if my knee isn't too sore then also the sprint (then I can stay for the buffet).

Running 30:00 [2]
Nice light run along the waterfront trail.

Saw the doctor yesterday, after pulling, twisting and bending my knee in a number of different ways he feels I have a basic sprain. He's told me that really all I need to do is give it time and rest. So I was told I could go for 3 30 minute runs. Of course, I had to ask " what about cycling?". To which he responds well how long do you normally ride for? You know an hour and a half up to a few hours..... doctor shakes his head..... eventually we agree to 2 cycles a week no longer then 30 minutes.

Running 1:00:00 [3]
Bought new socks and shoes yesterday so I had to go our a run to try them out. It's interesting that after on hour my knee hurts no more then it does after 30 minutes. Actually it's not even really pain, I can just feel that it's getting a bit swollen. Definitly lots of questions for the docter on Monday when I go in next.

Wednesday Sep 21

Weights 55:00 [2]
Upper body and include 10 minutes on the stationary bike. Today was a major break through for me as my knee did not hurt at all during the 10 minute bike ride. Still a little tight after wards, but no pain. After the soreness from Monday's run I think I definitly need new road running shoes.

Monday Sep 19

Running 30:00 [2]
Run along the waterfront. I thought my knee was really improving, but after todays run it's feeling tight again. Thinking that I shouldn't run on it again this week.

Saturday Sep 17

Weights 45:00 [2]
Upper body.

Friday Sep 16

Tuesday Sep 13

Running 35:00 [2]
Run felt pretty good today, only slight pain in the knee. Visited the doctor yesterday. Says it will take me roughly 6 weeks to recover from the 24 hour race. Knee pain is cartiledge and swelling. Gave me some heavy duty anti-inflammatories and wants to see me again in 2 weeks.

Running 35:00 [3]
Was able to get out for a run in the middle of the day as we worked on wedding prep. Knee is slowly feeling better. Going to go to the doctor on Monday to get it checked out.

Wednesday Sep 7

Running 30:00 [3]
Beautiful run this morning along Lakeshore. Limited the time to 30 minutes to make sure I don't over exert the knee. Mild pain overall, can definitly feel it's getting better.

Tuesday Sep 6

Weights 55:00 [2]
Upper body workout, includes 13 minutes on the bike.

Monday Sep 5

Cycling 40:00 [1]
Rode with K to Toronto Island, road around the island and then home.

Friday Sep 2

Weights 55:00 [2]
Upper body only. Includes 10 minutes on a stationary bike level 2. Knee is only mildly better then Tuesday.

Thursday Sep 1

Running 30:00 [2]
Out for a light run. Plan was to only go so far until my knee started to hurt. Turned around after 15 minutes because I was starting to feel it. Little ice once I was home and it's not too bad.
