Half Sunburn Solstice.

Sally mentioned she was doing this race and after looking into it I thought I'd also give it a try. It's a 4 km loop that you run from mid day until sun down. First 2 hours went ok, but then I started to suffer with the heat of the day. Tried to keep moving, but at times found that hard. I was thinking I'd stop after 50 km, came into the loop end/start at 48 km and said I needed to go out for 1 more to hit 50 km, during that loop the temps started to drop and I started to feel better. So kept going to the end and my pace actually started to improve. Overall a great atmosphere and fun event to be a part of.
