Note
Ocup #6
Cycling warm up/down 35:00 [2]
Warm up before the OCUP race. Legs definitely still tired.
Cycling race 2:07:00 [5]
OCUP at Hardwood Hills. Legs were definitely tired on the up hills which I'm pretty sure is just left over from last week. This was my first race in expert which means an extra lap and faster competition. Let's just say when the gun went off and everyone else took off I knew I had nowhere to go but up in the standings. The course was setup that the first section what the toughest and then it rolled much more after that so I just tried to pace myself for the first hilly section knowing what I had in my legs. Still sure I finished last, but I had a great time and I can't wait for Kelso.

Sunday Aug 20

Adventure Racing race 2:43:00 [3]
Go read Bent or Bash's log for the race description. Let's just say at this point I was wishing we were a team of 2 ladies and 2 males.
Adventure Racing race 11:00:00 [3]
Final leg of the race. Other then the final leg this went pretty well. The riding was pretty rocky which made it hard to push/pull up the hills as I'd like, but what can you do.

Saturday Aug 19

Adventure Racing race 11:48:00 [3]
Day 2. Probably our best day on the course. The paddle actually went really well and we put in a really good time. the decent into the finish was also quite a highlight.
Note
Endurance Aventure Raid

Friday Aug 18

Note
Endurance Aventure w the Tree Huggers.
Adventure Racing race 15:37:00 [3]
Day #1. My least favourite day. Actually the race was going pretty well for me right up until they made me do the ascent. Having never done it before and only having one hand thingy with no foot loops (which is apparently how it is normally done), just spiked my heart rate.

Tuesday Aug 15

Stretching 15:00 [1]

Monday Aug 14

Cycling 1:05:00 [2]
Decided to ride along the waterfront becuase I wanted to see the temporary installation they had on Queen's Quay for the proposed redesign of the waterfront. Other then taking one lane of bumpy traffic and making it a bike lane not much else to see really. Not sure what the fuss is all about if this is all they plan on doing.

Sunday Aug 13

Running long 1:30:00 [2]
Ran along the waterfront from my place to Ontario Place and back.
Stretching 15:00 [1]

Friday Aug 11

Cycling 30:00 [2]
Had to take the car in today so a nice easy ride to work from the garage.
Cycling 30:00 [2]
Ride home from work to pick up the car.

Thursday Aug 10

Cycling warm up/down 20:00 [2]
Cycling race 40:00 [4]
Was feeling pretty tired tonight so I started out pretty slow and just let the pace come to me. Ended up still catching the other two regulars in my category on the second lap which felt pretty good.

Wednesday Aug 9

Cycling 1:10:00 [3]
Road up the Humber to weston rd and then down Royal York. I realized I do this ride simply because I love the ride down Royal York. I'm definitely going to have to play around with a different route up.

Tuesday Aug 8

Weights 1:00:00 [2]

Monday Aug 7

Paddling 40:00 [3]

Saturday Aug 5

Note
ARC Collingwood hopefully.

Adventure Racing race 7:00:00 [4]
ARC Collingwood with Pixie and the big dyck. Another great course by Bob. The paddle was quite fun because of all the debris in the lake from the storms in the last two weeks. So you were constantly jumping in and out of the canoe. We had a pretty good race overall. Pixie was pretty worried going into this since she only gets out for a run once in a while and not even that often for a bike. So we hooked up the tow ropes throughout the race and pulled her along at a pretty good pace. She had a great fall along one of the roads when she lost control of her handle bars trying to let go of the tow rope. The road rash on her legs is pretty good.

Ended up 2nd in the co-ed category and I believe 2nd overall, but I was sure of that one.

Friday Aug 4

Cycling 1:10:00 [3]
Road up the Humber trail and then down Royal York. After having a pretty shitty day at work yesterday it felt good to get out this morning in the cool air and just turn the cranks.

Wednesday Aug 2

Weights 1:00:00 [2]
I've decided to avoid leg weights until the fall since I think this is part of what causes the knee to get sore. I'll give it some time. So today was all upper body and core.

Tuesday Aug 1

Running 55:00 [3]
Decided it was a little warm today to be running intervals so went for a jog along the waterfront instead.
