Ran from my house down to Kolb park and home along the Grand trail. Through in a fartlek during the run. 2-4-6-8-6-4-2 with 2 min recovery inbetween each hard effort.

Ran al8ng the Grand Trail from my house to Chicopee and back, also included a loop through Lackner. I forgot how much single track there is after you get down to Lackner. Not very hilly, but nice trails to run.

Tried something a bit different this morning for a hill workout on the treadmill. After my warm up I set the incline to 15% and then only varied the speed from 3.5 to 5.0. Did 4 times 4 min at 4.7-5.0 and some fast walking in between. Also through in a 6 min interval at 11% (4min @ 5.0 and 2 min @ 5.5). I probably could have pushed a little harder during this, but the last 4 min interval hurt a fair bit.

Pretty excited to see what happens at Hard rock this weekend. It seems like really strong field lined up for this run so it will be interesting to see what plays out.

I'm starting to think that this race needs to go on my bucket list if I survive my first 100 in the fall.

Had to take my car in today so I dropped it off early and then headed out for a road ride from there. Road up to Elmira and then to the kissy bridge and home. A bit cool this morning, but otherwise a nice enjoyable ride.

Got our for the Tuesday night trails run after a 2 year absence. Due to the rain it was a very small group which made it quite a nice run. Got hit by a bit of rain near the end, but then the sun came out and a really cool rainbow appeared as we ran the road back to the parking lot.

Up again at 5 am to take another stab and a long run. I decided to play it safe today and I just ran a route I know well. Headed out from my place down to Lackner woods via the Grand River trail. Nice morning to be out and the woods were great. Also very few bugs which was nice.

Made it home in time to pack a picnic breakfast/snack and head to the part with everyone to play in the splash pad.

Another long run faile. Today I headed out to try and run the Avon trail. I had gone and purchased the official maps and found a nice section with minimal road running involved. I was all packed and ready for a 4 hour run. Well..... I quickly discovered that this trail really has no traffic on it, and barely exists. It was a lot of bush waking and guessing to try and find the next blaze. At one point after 45 min I was standing in the middle of a farmer's field having just crossed a fence with an official ladder and I couldn't see anything that seemed to imply where the trail went. I decided at this point to give up and throw in the towel. Ran the road back to my van.

Road out to Elmira and home with some detours to add some extra distance.

Total time excludes the time spent at the side of the road when I got pulled over by the cop for running a stop sign. No ticket, just a friendly warning.

Note

Think we may have figured out why I've been feeling so tired the last few days and had this general off feeling. Things went south during dinner last night and K-way got home just in time for me to head up stairs, hug the porcelain and then sleep/lay in bed until morning.

Feeling much better today.
